Reevaluation means looking at something again to see if plans, rules, or conditions need to change. Finances, living environment, and health change over time, and so must our relationship to these things.
We often speak of living beyond our means. Universally, this refers to spending more money than we are earning.
Consider another meaning, that we are remaining in a living environment that no longer supports our life.
Perhaps you live in a multi-level home and can no longer travel a staircase safely, or you are facing home repair and recurring maintenance that your current income cannot support.
Perhaps your care partner arrangement is no longer meeting your needs.
These are examples of living beyond your means. Just like living beyond your means financially, the result is constant stress and worry that wears and tears on overall wellbeing. There comes a time when we need to walk away from something that is no longer working, leading to necessary endings and positive beginnings.
The Senior Services Care Coordination program provides guidance and resources to help you live within your means. Even small steps can lead to the accomplishment of huge things. Change is hard. We are here to offer support for successful transitions.
A client recently commented that anxiety filled her life when she was stuck trying to live in an environment that no longer supported her. The client took many small steps over three years, resulting in her current supportive environment. She recently stated “I am no longer anxious. I have nothing to worry about now. The guidance and services of Senior Services made this possible.”
