As we are moving into June, the 2020 Census continues. The U.S. Census Bureau has extended its deadline to October 31, 2020, to get a fair and accurate count during these unprecedented times. Now, more than ever, we are learning that an accurate census count plays a significant role during a global health crisis. The census count helps researchers predict disease rates during a pandemic like COVID-19.
If you have not filled out the census by phone or through the website, you may have received a paper copy in the mail. Please make sure to fill out the paper copy and return it by mail. If you prefer to call, the phone number is 844-330-2020. If you would like to fill it out on the website, the web address is my2020census.gov. There are only nine questions and they should take around 10-15 minutes total.
By filling out the census, you are helping create a brighter future for our community and the entire state of Michigan. Census participation ensures that our kids, families and communities have essential resources now and in the future. When everyone is counted, our communities get their fair share of federal funding to help keep all people safe and healthy. Help your community by responding to the Census today.
