Every Wednesday at Trailside Center, anticipation builds for the weekly 50/50 raffle — not just for the prize, but for a special handmade surprise! That surprise comes from Jerry Siebert, a 90-year-old Midland resident whose beautiful wood creations have quickly become a beloved tradition at Trailside.
Jerry has been crafting woodworks for over 30 years, creating everything from detailed animals to miniature buildings with a scroll saw. His favorite? Sea turtles. “I just love them,” he shares with a smile.
Jerry’s passion for woodworking was something he shared with his late wife, who lovingly helped with finishing his pieces. Though she passed away last year, Jerry continues their shared hobby with great pride. Since joining Trailside just four months ago, he’s generously donated one of his handmade creations each week to be included in the raffle drawing.
All raffle proceeds go directly toward supporting programs and activity supplies at the Trailside Center — making Jerry’s gifts even more meaningful.
His generosity, talent, and kind spirit have made a lasting impression, reminding everyone at Trailside that beauty, creativity, and community have no age limit.
