Calling all art lovers! Please join us for a program devoted to artists, their styles, and their works. From the Renaissance to Impressionism to modern art, Heidi Lang will be your guide to learning more about the world’s greatest artists and their masterworks. Expect a lively, fun and interactive hour of art appreciation.
Georgia O’Keefe (1887-1986) is one of the most significant artists of the 20th century – renowned as the “Mother of American modernism.” Her career spanned 7 decades and garnered international recognition for her meticulous paintings of natural forms – particularly flowers and desert-inspired landscapes.
O’Keefe became a legend in the 1920s and was known for her independent spirit along with her dramatic and innovative works of art. Although her works show some elements of different modernist movements like Surrealism and Precisionism – her style was independent of major art movements and uniquely her own.
