Dementia 101: Understanding the Basics

Join Director of Education and Outreach, Trena Winans, and Health Education Coordinator Julie Black, OTR, for an enlightening session about Alzheimer’s disease and other related forms of dementia. This informative presentation will discuss the basics including what dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are, their symptoms and stages, and how they are diagnosed and treated. This program provides a primer of background information is helpful knowledge for other sessions focused on communication, challenges, and therapeutic engagement.

*For all care partner classes, if you are caring for another person and are not previously registered with Senior Services as a caregiver, please plan to arrive a few minutes early for registration. Respite scholarships may be available. If requesting respite care, notify when registering.
