Engaging Your Loved One in Therapeutic Activity

All people need mental stimulation and fulfilling things to do, regardless of any cognitive changes. How can you engage your loved one at home when they seem to only want to sleep or watch TV? Or perhaps your person seems bored but you struggle to find activities they enjoy. Particularly for a person going through the stages of dementia, engagement in activities is essential to helping that person maintain abilities for as long as possible. The dual benefit is that staying active has therapeutic benefits, boosting their mood, quality of life and sleep habits- and there is a chance it may give you a break too! Learn how to meaningfully engage your loved one at home and gain new resources and activity ideas to help increase their comfort level and overall happiness.
Join Seasons Family Support and Activities Manager Amy Sheridan and Seasons Activity Coordinator Christin Rousseau to discover resources and technology that can provide meaningful activity at home. Please register by October 16.
*For all caregiver classes, if you are caring for another person and are not previously registered with Senior Services as a caregiver, please plan to arrive a few minutes early for registration. Respite scholarships may be available. If requesting respite care, notify when registering.
