Care Partner Class
Navigating Legal and Financial Challenges
Thurs, May 21st • 1:30-2:30 pm • Trailside
As a care partner, you may face tough decisions—like whether to leave your job to care for a loved one or how to manage legal responsibilities if you move them into your home. What legal steps do you need to take if they can no longer make decisions for themselves? These are just a few of the complex legal concerns caregivers often face. Without proper planning and understanding, caregivers can unknowingly jeopardize their loved one’s future care or complicate family dynamics. This session will explore key legal issues, such as how to document your expenses, what impact it could have on Medicaid eligibility, and the differences between Guardianship, Conservatorship, and Powers of Attorney. Join Wendy Kanar from Poznak Dyer Kanar Schefsky Thompson PLC for expert advice on how to safeguard both your well-being and that of the person you’re caring for.
Class size is limited. Pre-registration is highly recommended. Please register in advance through the online portal at SeniorServicesMidland.org/Portal or by calling 989-633-3700.
