April is Parkinson’s disease awareness month. April serves as an important time to increase awareness and understanding of Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder of the nervous system. Experts estimate that 1% of people over 60 years old are affected by Parkinson’s disease. We will explore Parkinson’s symptoms, stages, causes, diagnosis, and treatments. We will discuss support and how to take care of yourself or a loved one if diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
