Whether you used to travel the globe and want to comfortably revisit favorite places, are curious about amazing locales you have never seen, or are seeking inspiration for your next trip! Travel and Adventure is being held twice this month so that more people can enjoy the program. Choose which date/format is best for you and register early.

Bulgaria
Bulgaria, so mysterious to most Americans, has a vivid identity as a crossroads of the Balkans. Rick will trace the country’s complex history, from ancient Thracian tombs to medieval Orthodox Christian monasteries to Soviet monuments. And he’ll enjoy an intimate taste of contemporary culture: the yellow brick road of Sofia, the gregarious craftspeople of Veliko Tarnovo, and the thriving pedestrian zones of cosmopolitan Plovdiv.

Romania
Rick tours Romania’s vibrant capital, Bucharest, with its “Little Paris of the East” architecture and lingering reminders of a brutal communist dictator. Then he heads into Transylvania, where he’ll visit fortified churches, cobbled merchant towns like Sighișoara, and castles made famous by an imported German king and the real-life Dracula. Finally he’ll explore Maramureș, where everyday life still feels like an open-air folk museum.

Please note Travel and Adventure is concurrent with lunch. If you would like to get a meal the day of the in-person program, please be sure to register for your meal by 9:00 am that day. Be sure to arrive prior to the program start time, by between 11:30 and 11:45 am to begin lunch.
