Whether you used to travel the globe and want to comfortably revisit favorite places, are curious about amazing locales you have never seen, or are seeking inspiration for your next trip! Travel and Adventure is being held twice this month so that more people can enjoy the program. Choose which date/format is best for you and register early.

In human cultures in general, and perhaps particularly in Africa, the landscape is the first shrine of tradition. This series explores the origin, the nature and the survival of deep links between several populations in West Africa and their habitat.

Caught between the immensity of the Atlantic and that of the Sahara, Mauritania was born of wind and sand. Today its men and women hand down its desert traditions. We meet Youbba, nomad patriarch of the Adrar region; Seif, custodian of Chinguetti’s ancient manuscripts; and Nour, a fisherman.

Please note Travel and Adventure is concurrent with lunch. If you would like to get a meal the day of the in-person program, please be sure to register for your meal by 9:00 am that day. Be sure to arrive prior to the program start time, by between 11:30 and 11:45 am to begin lunch.
