Services will be offered in 2022 on Thursdays and Fridays from Feb 3-April 8. Free tax preparation and e-filing are provided in the 50+ Computer Lab for low to moderate-income taxpayers in the Barstow Shipps Wing of the Midland Community Center from 8 am to 4 pm.
Starting January 10, 2022, qualified people can begin calling the Community Center at 832-7937, then press 6 or email taxhelp@greatermidland.org for their initial tax client appointment. Please leave a message with your full name and phone number; someone will call you back with available dates and times. There will NOT be walk-ins for the 2022 tax year. The tax preparation will be virtual for the 2022 tax year and social distancing will be enforced.
For the first scheduled appointment, the tax client will bring all their tax documents to the Community Center and a tax counselor will scan all documents. The second scheduled client appointment (one week later) will be to receive the completed client tax return.
The second appointment will be scheduled in person during the first appointment. A packet of forms and checklists will be e-mailed to the client. If the client is unable to receive e-mail and print the documents, the client must visit the Community Center to receive their packet. The client must complete the packet prior to their first appointment.
Coleman: Services will be offered at the Greater Midland Coleman Family Center by appointment only. Appointments will begin on Tuesday, February 15th for 8 weeks. Please call 989-465-6398, to schedule an appointment.
