Testimonials

Finding Seasons was the best place we have ever found for both myself and my husband. It provides a safe place, great staff, and social engagement for my husband. For me, it provides the ability to run errands, have lunch with a friend, or just have some quiet time alone without being on alert all the time.

In his words, “ I like to go for the company. There is always someone to talk to.”

Denise Long – Seasons Client Care Partner

My husband, Chuck, has Alzheimer’s, which is causing a greatly diminished memory and behavior unlike his “normal” abilities and personality.

Alzheimer’s/dementia are horrible illnesses that can take a person’s mind, body, heart & soul, destroying their lives and causing their loved ones’ lives to become very sad.

Chuck is 88 years young; I am 84.  We are going on 64 years married.  I have become his sole caregiver without any help UNTIL we found a wonderful place for him at Seasons.

Seasons is like a “daycare” environment for people who have or are experiencing memory issues or brain damage resulting from any one of several issues.  As their mental health & physical health diminish, their quality of life also diminishes, bringing about a host of problems for themselves as well as families &/or caregivers.

Seasons is a part of Midland Senior Services (a wonderful place for seniors offering many opportunities & experiences too numerous to describe.   They have a monthly newspaper describing their many programs, activities, etc.)  Midland County residents really need to check it out.  It is another blessing for our community!

Seasons (which comes under the Senior Services “umbrella”) is located in a gorgeous building across from Senior Services on the corner of North Saginaw Rd. & Dublin.  It addresses the many memory problems many people sadly have.  Seasons offers a multitude of activities, i.e., music, exercises, games, memory, verbal, the thinking process, plus a plethora of other activities & the very important socializing.

The helpers are phenomenal!  Tremendous patience, caring, loving kindness, assistance, etc.  The meals are wonderful with great friendships at each table with their “friends”. Chuck goes five afternoons each week & really looks forward to going to the “clubhouse”.  He misses not going on the weekends and holidays.  He is much happier there than he would be in any other place, including being at home.

This is a tremendous benefit for me to be able to accomplish the many things I wouldn’t be able to do without the help Seasons offers!  I am so grateful we are blessed to have this wonderful experience for our loved one & many other folks who are able to participate in all the many, many things Seasons & Senior Services has to offer!  We, all in Midland County, have been truly blessed to have several foundations, donors, &  volunteers all helping to make these wonderful opportunities available to our Community.

I just want to say that Seasons has been a Godsend to Jill and me. It gives her a chance to be out among other people in a safe and caring environment, doing activities and enriching her life. It gets her out of the house and does more for her than I can do myself.

It also gives me an opportunity to take care of the day-to-day things I need to do for us and for myself. I know she is well taken care of and I don’t have to worry. Her mood has improved since she’s been attending. I also like the fact that I’m kept informed on how she is doing. Thank you for all you and everyone else does. It’s boosted both of our spirits knowing there’s a safe place Jill can go.

As a former staff person at Senior Services, I’ve known about the services that Seasons offers for a while. Having a nearly 100-year-old mother that I want to keep safe, I contacted you about a weekly bath for my mom. Mom was quite resistant to this but gradually came to realize the value of it for safety reasons after having a few falls in her own bathroom. She now speaks highly of the staff and participants, how they all greet her with a “hi Dotty” and how she always asks “what’s for lunch?” She is always talking about how kind and compassionate the staff is. So while she was quite resistant at first, she now appreciates her weekly bath. And I appreciate that there is one less task I need to do for mom and that she is way safer getting her bath at Seasons. You all are a godsend! I wish there were a better way to get others to take advantage of this great resource. I’ve always said that caregivers are doing their loved ones a disservice by NOT taking advantage of the myriad of services that Seasons and Senior Services offer. Thank you all!

Seasons has been a huge, positive game changer for my husband. He developed dementia after long sedation during emergency open-heart surgery.

He continues to have several significant health issues. At first, he didn’t care for Seasons. He felt there was a stigma there. I told him that no one cared and that the staff was so kind. Now he’s disappointed when weekends roll around because he enjoys it so much. Everyone there is friendly and supportive. He’s developed a sense of camaraderie with other guests as well as the staff. He enjoys the activities and likes the food. Plus it’s a beautiful facility with a variety of comfortable areas. He’s safe there, a relief to me. And I get some respite. At home, he mostly naps. At Seasons, I see his social side.  The stimulation and socialization have definitely improved his quality of life.

Seasons has meant so much to my wife and me. Her dementia progresses, but the time at Seasons has improved her social interactions and general mood. What a blessing!

The staff has been outstanding! They are motivated to do this work because they really care about helping people. I see it in action.

The program has something different every hour, using activities to help with cognitive, physical, creative, occupational, spiritual, etc. So it keeps everyone interested and involved.

We couldn’t be happier. Seasons has provided what was missing. Thanks to everyone who volunteers and the excellent staff for their contribution to our lives.

Seasons Adult Activity Center in Midland, MI has been a wonderful experience this past year for my family and me!  Three reasons come to mind: a culture of positivity, well-thought-out programs, and professionalism by all staff.

The positive environment my husband experiences daily translates into time well spent at Seasons.  We are greeted by staff when we are coming and leaving and are treated as valued clients.  There are no bad days. Everyone is both kind and caring.

Programming follows the four seasons, the holidays, and topics interesting to older adults. A monthly calendar details the daily programs.  The calendar is sent out well ahead of each month, and I greatly appreciate this guide so I’m always in the know.  Community groups come in often to sing, dance, paint, and much more.  A petting farm?  Of course! The field trips are great fun as well. I see excitement in my loved one looking forward to going fishing, attending the Festival of Trees, and even a Loons Game!  Inclusion in the activities is encouraged but not forced.  The variety of activities is appealing to most.

Lastly, professionalism exudes from the director on down.  The staff is respectful, knowledgeable, and fun to be around.

I highly recommend checking out Seasons for your loved one.

My dad started going to Seasons in September 2025.  He was diagnosed with mild dementia a few years prior, and the unexpected death of my mom in November 2024 just added to his memory decline.  He was unable to go to Senior Services as he required more assistance than they offer.  He attends Seasons two times per week.

I love this facility and their programs!  My dad has met a gentleman that he formerly worked with, plus has met many other gentlemen there.  It is a great group of guys!  And the staff – I cannot say enough kind words for all that they do!  They are all so pleasant when they greet my dad.  They chat with me, my husband, and my brother when we drop off and pick up dad.  I know that Dad is going to have social interaction each time he is there, plus a good meal.  Midland is very lucky to have a facility like this.  I highly recommend any family with a dementia patient to look into Seasons.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the countless hours of care, encouragement, and patience you have provided our Mom over the past 11+ years.

Your daily expressions of love and compassion have provided her with a comfortable, safe, home away-from-home environment where she could thrive in a social setting of belonging. We truly believe that the mental, physical, and emotional support provided at Seasons has extended and enhanced her quality of life for all these years. Knowing she was being well cared for while away from us gave us peace of mind and provided a chance for us to recharge, which allowed us to continue to fulfill our commitment as full-time caregivers through the duration of this season in her life journey.

The Family of Annette Kernstine, Seasons Client

This place is Incredible! They helped me with my Mom 10 years ago when she developed Lewy Body Dementia. They were a wealth of info on this condition, where the doctors I kept taking her to were clueless … They provided me with a folder that explained a lot & I took it to her doctor to show them what was happening with her! And they held a Family meeting for us to explain to everyone what had happened and what would happen! Thank you for saving my sanity, Seasons!
