Sanford Activity & Dining Center
Sanford Center is located at 3243 N. West River Rd. Nestled behind the center, Sanford offers outdoor exercise equipment and a paved 2/3 mile walking trail. Adjacent to the Center parking lot, you’ll find the Jerome Township Pickleball/Tennis Courts. Additionally, there is a fitness room that can be accessed with an economical yearly membership. At a Senior Services Activity & Dining Center, you may see a lively card game, a band playing music, a holiday celebration, woodworkers whittling away, an exercise class in action, people enjoying a delicious meal and so much more!
Enrichment Activities & Special Events
Our Centers are a great place to make new friends or meet up with old friends! We offer opportunities to learn new skills and information, or share skills you already have. Each Center plans monthly entertainment, games and special events tailored to YOUR needs, wants, tastes and interests!

Advisory Board
The Sanford Lumber Jack’s and Jill’s have a long history in Sanford and the Center’s advisory board. They play a vital and active role in the Sanford Senior Center. Meetings are held the second Monday, every other month at 10:00 a.m.
The advisory board of elected members are:
President: Patricia Baringer
Vice President: Joe Ramos
2nd Vice President: Barb Boman
Secretary: Terri Jardno
Treasurer: Colleen Valentine
A few of their activities include, Appreciation Dinners, Annual Picnic, Grandparent’s Night, Special occasion bingos and prizes, Memorial Day Parade participation and monthly casino trips. They also provide meal tickets for the winners of card games, pool and scrabble tournaments, bingos and others. Memorial donations and name plaques for our deceased participants are also sponsored by the Jack’s and Jill’s.
Lunch is Served Daily at 11:30 am
Meals are prepared fresh each weekday morning. Nutrition staff, along with guidance from the American Heart Association and American Dietetic Association, ensure the inclusion of proper nutrients while choosing ingredients and menu planning. We follow these guidelines with great care to provide the best nutrition possible!
Lunch Reservations:
Please call the Center at (989) 687-7888 or reserve online to make a reservation by 9 am the day of. Please call if you need to make a cancellation. Reservations and cancellations allow us to best accommodate all meal requests.
For those 60 years and over, the cost of meals are based on donation. For those under 60, meals cost $7.00 a person. The cost of meals is the same at each Activity Center.

What to expect when you visit for lunch
- Make your reservations before 9:00am by calling 687-7888 or by signing the yellow reservation sheet, located at the center, for the appropriate date and meal.
- Please sign in on the white sheet located at the table near the front entrance.
- Donations are placed in the box that is next to the reservation and sign in sheet.
- Please help yourself to coffee or tea which is located at the back of the dining room.
- Announcements begin at 11:25am, grace is said and lunch is served at 11:30am. The Pledge of Allegiance is recited on Fridays.
- A salad bar is available before lunch.

Exercise Equipment
Outdoor exercise equipment is located behind the Activity & Dining Center.
Pickleball Court
The Jerome Township Pickleball/Tennis Courts are located on the north end of the Sanford Center parking lot. The courts can be enjoyed from dawn until dusk at your own risk.
Paved Trail
The walking trail is 2/3 of a mile long and is located behind Sanford Center for public use. The trail is paved and handicap-accessible. Motorcycles and ATVs are not allowed. Click here for a map.
