Senior Services specializes in helping and serving older adults, and our professional therapists understand challenges specific to growing older. They will work to help you to find solutions to concerns about lifestyle changes, decision making, grief, depression, the stresses of caregiving and other issues.
Life experiences such as the death of someone you love, health problems, a move to senior housing, and a lack or loss of friends can dramatically affect emotional well-being. Even people who have led cheerful, satisfying lives can become overwhelmed when faced with life changes. Discussing a problem with a caring, professional therapist can really make a difference. It helps you work through your feelings, recognize your strengths, consider alternatives, learn new coping skills and redirect your life toward a greater meaning and purpose.
Counseling is offered through a collaboration with Family and Children’s Services (FCS). Clients can meet with a FCS therapist at Senior Services. As an added benefit, clients can also take part in the amazing programming opportunities at Senior Services before or after therapy.
In partnership with FCS, Tad Hupfer, serves as our current outpatient therapist at Senior Services. His comprehensive experience helps clients develop social skills and cope with various life challenges.
As a therapist, Tad has seen firsthand the positive impact quality care can have on individuals. He believes that everyone has a unique story, often filled with struggles, and having access to excellent care can profoundly influence one’s future. Tad also wants to reassure individuals that they need not feel obligated to have a predefined goal in their counseling journey; instead, he will support them wherever they are on that path.
