The Midland 100 Club, a large women’s group that supports local non-profit organizations, recently selected Seasons Adult Day Health Services as a recipient of a Club donation. The Midland 100 Club’s 600+ members are donating more than $25,000 in support of families who will benefit from the Seasons program for caregiver respite and support.
Seasons’ therapeutic enrichment program, a program of Senior Services of Midland County, is for individuals living with a chronic illness, changes in memory, or a dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease. Attending Seasons allows people to continue living in their own homes, helping them maintain as much independence as possible. The program is available during the day Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Those who come to Seasons remain involved in the world around them by enjoying activities designed to add meaning to their lives. Whether it’s gardening in the Seasons Courtyard or going to a Loons baseball game, we offer activities that are interesting to each person, reflecting who they are as individuals.
Every day includes opportunities for exercise, socializing and memory training, all of which contribute to a healthy lifestyle that maintains, or even improves, intellectual and physical abilities. Trained staff provides health monitoring and nursing services with compassion and care. Seasons also offers medication administration, transportation, spa and shower service, assistance with mobility and toileting, hot lunch and refreshments, and can arrange for skilled therapy services as needed. These services give family members a break from caregiving, allowing them a period of rest and renewal. In addition, the families are offered support and resources to help care for a loved one at home for as long as possible.
The Midland 100 Club meets three times per year and at each meeting selects two charitable organizations to support financially. Each member commits to contributing $100 at each meeting. Total financial impact of the Midland 100 Club now exceeds $1.6 million, including matching funds. For information on joining, email Midland100Club@hotmail.com.
Senior Services of Midland County greatly appreciates the donation received from the Midland 100 Club which will help support their mission to promote and enrich the quality of life for older adults and those who care for them by collaboratively providing meaningful services and opportunities.
