Did you know that there are numerous ways for you to show your support for Senior Services this holiday season? Show your spirit by making a donation to help older adults in Midland County today.
Ways to Give
- Annual One-Time Gift: Gifts can be made to Senior Services at any time during the year. If you have a specific program that is dear to your heart, your gift may be earmarked for support of that program. While we gladly accept these gifts, we often encourage donors to contribute their gift “unrestricted” allowing their contribution to be used in the area of greatest need.
- Monthly Gift: Gifts can be made on a monthly basis by joining the monthly giving program. By giving monthly, you help provide dependable support that backs the important work done at Senior Services.
- Tribute Gift: Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of someone close to you at any time during the year. Senior Services will also list the name of the person being honored in the monthly Midland Prime Times newspaper and send a note to the family to notify them of your gift.
- Planned Giving: You can leave a legacy by including Senior Services in your estate planning or will, also known as a charitable bequest.
Stocks, Charitable Rollovers, Life Insurance Beneficiary: Senior Services can accept gifts of stock, IRA rollovers, or be named as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy.
Did You Know?
- If you have reached age 70 ½ in 2023, you may be eligible to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA directly to Senior Services. Additionally, if you have a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) you may be able to satisfy all, or a portion of that distribution, with a QCD.
- In legislation at the end of 2015, Congress made the QCD option permanent. You can transfer gifts up to $100,000 annually directly from your IRA to a qualified charitable organization. This type of gift can make an immediate impact for an organization and for you, too, as no tax is generated on the minimum distribution you are required to take.
- You may ask for your Required Minimum Distribution to be transferred directly to Senior Services and donate up to $100,000 without it being considered a taxable distribution. All you need is the federal tax ID number from Senior Services to get you started. Please consult your tax advisor if you have any questions or to make sure you have reached the appropriate age for a required minimum distribution.
